Dominican Joe Coffee shop opened in 2006 with a purpose beyond serving the best coffee in Austin. They began importing coffee to help support different non profit programs while Sharla Megilligan (Makarios' founder), and Mehul Patel opened Dominican Joe Coffee Shop with the purpose of selling the coffee and promoting the ministries of Makarios (you can read more about those ministries at www.makdr.org).

 

After ten great years, they decided to sell the shop to the owners of Bennu Coffee Shop, who were looking to expand and were a great fit to run the business. Though the shop is gone, you can still buy the same great coffee here in our online store, and proceeds will continue to support non-profits We appreciate your continued support.

In addition to supporting Makarios, we have recently started a relationship with the Dominican Joe Foundation (not related to the shop or our coffee) and you can now buy coffee that will support their organization as well. Our goal is to sell excellent coffee that benefits as many solid organizations as possible, hence our name - Impact Coffee.
